Baby Paintings
At 18 months of age, my daughter was introduced to water color painting. She selects the colors she wants to work with and Daddy squeezes the paint out of the tubes onto her green plastic dish. It's a good way for her to learn the names of colors. Now at 2 years old, she is incredibly prolific and initiates all paintings herself.

First painting - vibrant brush strokes and hand prints.

Her second try shows more control and understanding of the edges of the paper. This painting makes me think of the plum tree in our backyard.

She calls this painting "O-o-o-orange."

This one she calls "Shaibo," which is her word for "spider."

In this painting, she discovered that the paintbrush can also make prints on the paper (see the top right corner of the painting).
