Our Love Story
My husband and I have been married for over ten years now, and feel so very lucky to have found each other. Raised in two very different worlds, we somehow met at a point in both of our lives that we were ready for each other. Marriage was the leap we took early in our relationship, and although at that time we did not know each other that well, what we had was a commitment to the love we had for one another. Our love story begins with our whirlwind courtship and continues over ten years later now that we are parents.

is based on my experience with both during my pregnancy. I felt very
lucky to have chosen such wonderful care providers. My Ob-Gyn is an
older lady who had a bedside manner I immediately felt at ease with.
She had a sweet sense of humor, but tended to forget about my personal
decisions not to take certain tests. (She would just fill out lab request
forms for me; out of habit, perhaps, from her visits with other patients.)
On the other hand, my midwife is a few months younger than me and has
yet to experience the mysteries of motherhood first hand, but her extensive
experience in birthing babies is evident in how she handled herself
during my childbirth. She taught me so much about nutrition, spent a
lot of time listening to me and addressing specific needs as they came
about during my pregnancy. She also provided support after birth and
as I began breastfeeding.

My Home Birth Story
Finally, after nine months of waiting, our child is born at home. There are no words to capture the immense feeling of anticipation, fear, love and joy my husband and I shared that night. Hopefully the moment by moment account of my home birth story can approximate this blessed event.
