Popsicles
Homemade popsicles are easy to make. You can pour fruit juice in ice trays, stick little cocktail stirrers in them and freeze. That's the shortest short version, I suppose.

This summer we drove cross country from California to Maine and back. I was crazy enough to want to take my ice cream maker with me, but my husband talked me out of it. Ice cream makers are gangly electrical gadgets, not rugged travel companions. These popsicle molds, however, made the cut because they're lightweight and simple.
